Shared Power Network

About

How They Help

How does your organization help the community?

Shared Power Network understands the potential of solar energy — both as a power source and an opportunity for the communities it impacts. Local installations provide innumerable benefits for school-age students, educators, utility-paying schools and nonprofit organizations. For students, they have the opportunity to become familiar with solar energy — an increasingly important energy source and career field. For educators, we have learned through partner schools that solar energy fits nicely into state curriculum needs across grades 5-9, as well as additional elective and AP needs. Lastly, for the schools, nonprofit partners and communities impacted, these solar installations can serve as a touch point to the potential for renewable energy Ohio. We will conduct solar celebrations at each partner school, to better include staff, parents and community members.

Program Description:

One-kilowatt, school-based solar installations

From start to finish, Shared Power Network will manage the solar installation for all partner organizations. We help source the funding, contract the solar installer, manage the installation and provide access to free educational benefits, including: sample curricula, solar energy materials, real-time data collection systems and a teacher seminar with the National Energy Education Development (NEED).
